Markey’s Honors Roe Wright on Retirement After 36 Years of Dedicated Service

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: MARKEY’S HONORS ROE WRIGHT ON RETIREMENT AFTER 36 YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE
Roe Wright will retire from his role as Regional Director effective June 30th, 2026, concluding a distinguished 36-year career marked by leadership, mentorship, and lasting impact on the organization.
Roe joined Markey’s in 1990 as a technician and quickly advanced to working on-site with Markey’s hotel partners, laying the groundwork for a career rooted in growth and service. He later served as Director of Employee Development for nearly 15 years, where he played a key role in shaping the company’s hiring strategy and cultivating talent. Driven by a passion for people and the long-term success of the company, Roe helped guide countless employees as they developed in their roles. In 2017, Roe assumed his current role as Regional Director, working closely with Markey’s regional offices throughout the country to strengthen operations and support growth across markets.
A proud Indianapolis native, Roe is also known for his deep community involvement and strong relationships with local businesses and organizations. Roe has dedicated countless hours to serving local organizations, nonprofit boards, and community initiatives. “I have had the great privilege to work with Roe for over 25 years on a variety of community-based projects,” shares Susie Townsend, Senior Vice President and Chief Destination Experience Officer at Visit Indy. “Most notable is our collective collaboration on Visit Indy’s ROSE Award committee. Roe has helped elevate this very important special event for years as an active part of the committee. We couldn’t have elevated the event as we have over the years if we didn’t have Roe as part of our team. Roe is a passionate contributor to other events, but more importantly, I consider him a dear friend,” concluded Susie.
Roe’s legacy at Markey’s is defined not only by his professional accomplishments but also by the people he mentored and the culture he helped shape. Through his leadership, volunteerism, and unwavering commitment to making a difference, Roe has left a lasting and meaningful impact on the people and causes he cares about most.
