After graduating from Indiana State University, with a degree in Radio-TV-Film Productions, and having honed his technical and production skills with Markey’s for over 13 years, Trent was promoted to Director of Operations at the JW Marriott Indianapolis in 2011, at the time the largest JW Marriott in the country. He was part of the opening team and helped assemble a staff of 14 who provided audiovisual services for thousands of events over the next three years.
When Markey’s was selected as the in-house Event Technology provider for the JW Marriott Austin, Trent’s managerial experience and dedication to leading his team to excellent customer service scores made him a logical choice to serve as Director of Event Technology at this prestigious property where he continues to serve today.
Alex Hoover graduated from Ball State University in 2007 with a Bachelor’s in Telecommunications, and was soon hired by Markey’s to be a hotel event technician. He began by floating between three hotel properties, managing the day-to-day audiovisual needs of the hotels’ clients. In his four years in this role, he furthered his knowledge of audio and video services, and he proved very adept at managing the details for all three hotels and at providing great customer service.
When Markey’s was selected as the on-site event technology provider for the JW Marriott Indianapolis, Alex was promoted to an event technology technician at this new hotel. Because of his inherent customer service skills, combined with his technical knowledge, Alex was again promoted in 2013 to Event Technology Sales Manager. Alex’s years of varied experience made him a natural choice for the position of Director of Event Technology Operations, where he currently trains and oversees all the Markey’s event technology technicians at the hotel.
Thomas is a graduate of Texas State University where he studied Strategic Communications and Electronic Media. Before joining Markey’s, Thomas spent over a decade in radio, producing award winning programming and events. Thomas also spent many of those years covering some of the biggest news stories both on a local and national level; heard across the country on ABC News, FOX News and even the BBC.
Thomas started as part of the Markey’s operations team that helped open the JW Marriott Austin; promoted to Assistant Director of Operations before ultimately switching to sales in order to better utilize his outstanding customer service skills by helping clients as they plan upcoming events at the JW Marriott. A life-long Austinite, Thomas has seen the city grow into the ideal destination for large conferences and events.
