On November 17th, the Indiana Chamber of Commerce held its Annual Awards Dinner, with over 1,500 business, political and community leaders in attendance. Governor Mitch Daniels kicked off the awards portion with inspiring remarks about the state of business in Indiana. Award winners of the evening included:
Business Leader of the Year: Jean Wojtowicz, president of Indianapolis-based Cambridge Capital Management Corp., for investing in small business
Government Leader of the Year: House Speaker Brian Bosma and Senate President Pro Tem David Long, for working well together despite a 5-week walkout.
Community of the Year: Kokomo was honored for turning around its economy within a few short years, becoming a highly-rated city to live in and do business in.
The award ceremony was followed by an entertaining and motivational adress by former Pittsburg Steeler quarterback Terry Bradshaw, noted for 4 Super Bowl wins and being inducted in the Football Hall of Fame. VIP ticket holders were able to meet Bradshaw at a special reception following the awards dinner.
