The JW Marriott

Gamma, an international society for key women educators, July 28- August

The planning team from
Delta Kappa Gamma desired high quality in the projection and the sound, so
Markey’s produced the event in High Definition, using Sony HXC-100 HD Cameras
and Christie HD 14k and 10k projectors for the Stumpfl screens. Two 11.3’
x 20’ screens were placed flanking the center stage, and two 6.75’ x 12’
screens were flown from the ceiling, midway from the stage, to give the
audience in the back a clear view of the stage proceedings. A JBL 4886
line array system and JBL 7212 Powered Speakers provided concert-quality and
volume levels fit for this large group.
manager designed a stage set with six Pleated Columns, uplit with 18
Martin Mac700’s, with black drape in-between for a dramatic but classic look.
Additional lighting for the multiple stages included ETC Lekos, Arri 1K
Fresnels, and Martin Stage Bar II’s.
An interesting twist for
this event was that there were several stage size and position changes over the
five days, which also necessitated adjustment to the lighting, video and audio
each time. There was also a change in personnel on the conference team of
Delta Kappa Gamma during the planning stages, but all went smoothly and the
event came in under budget.
