On the afternoon of June 13, 2014, Markey’s celebrated New
Orleans-style the 25-year anniversaries of three employees: Tim Stull, Bill Lasley and Johnny Moore.
Crawfish were shipped from Louisiana by employee and former
New Orleans native Jaime LaCrosse for an authentic Crawfish Boil. Markey’s also honored its Midwestern roots
for those squeamish about the crawfish, grilling burgers and hot dogs to serve
with the various side dishes.
The three honorees were recognized for their dedication and
service and given gifts of appreciation.
This isn't the first time we've had a celebration for length
of service; Markey’s employees have
unusually long tenure, particularly given the current trends in the
workplace. Over half (64%) of Markey’s
employees have been with the company more than 10 years, and 40% have tenure longer
than 15 years. This gives our employee-owners a depth of experience and long-standing customer relationships that are unique,
particularly for our industry.
