The Kiwanis International 98th Annual Convention was recently held in Vancouver, BC, Canada, with Markey's Rental & Staging reprising its role as audiovisual provider for this event of 4,600 attendees from all over the globe.
This was Markey's first time to accompany Kiwanis International in another country with a full crew, although National Account Manager John Griffith traveled to Geneva, Switzerland in 2011 to help manage their audiovisual productions. Three semi-truckloads of equipment and 17 Markey's professional technicians traveled across the border to Vancouver, home of the 2010 Winter Olympics, to support Kiwanis in giving their attendees a memorable event.
As part of the convention, more than 350 Kiwanis and Circle K International (CKI) members participated in a walk to raise money and awareness for The Eliminate Project, a joint fundraiser with UNICEF to eliminate Maternal and Neonatal Tetanus (MNT). The Olympic Cauldron was lit as the kickoff for the walk, and Markey's Rental & Staging was very honored to be the sponsor of the lighting.
