Markey’s in the Chuckstrong Tailgate Gala Lineup

Touchdown scored by the Indiana University Melvin and Bren Simon Cancer Center!  The 2nd annual Chuckstrong Tailgate Gala hosted by the Indianapolis Colts and Coach Chuck Pagano was held at the Indiana Farm Bureau Football Center on May 2 to benefit research at the IU Simon Cancer Center.  Pete Ward, Chief Operating Officer of the Indianapolis Colts, and Dr.  Patrick J. Loehrer, Sr., Director of the IU Simon Cancer Center, served as the Event Chairmen.

A sold out crowd ran through the Colts tunnel lined by Colts Cheerleaders as they entered the indoor practice facility to participate in a variety of football drills.  Guests enjoyed mingling with over 50 Indianapolis Colts players in attendance while supporting Coach Chuck Pagano.  Dinner was held at the Colts Party Pavilion along with an entertaining live auction hosted by Pat McAfee and Tom Zupancic.  Following dinner, the guests transitioned to the indoor practice facility for desserts and a musical performance by Greta Speaks.

Event Consultants, Maribeth Smith & Associates managed the Chuckstrong Tailgate Gala Committee in addition to all event logistics.  As the audiovisual services provider, Markey’s Rental & Staging’s scope of work included:

Indoor Practice Field

An upright scoreboard in the middle of the catering area was created for sponsor loops and video playback of photos from the evening.  A sound system was designed for the After Party entertainment from Greta Speaks, and the Colts portable stage with stage top for lighting completed the band’s needs.  The After Party featured hazers and Martin MAC movers to create a nightclub feel.  Décor lighting was provided around the perimeter of the facility in addition to stage lighting positioned in strategic areas for guests to be able to find their way from the entry to the dance floor.

Colts Party Pavilion

Stagebars provided décor lighting around the Colts Party Pavilion’s perimeter of the room along with moves for ballyhoo.  We utilized the house projection (screens and projectors) and audio system, but we controlled the playback of any videos, PowerPoints, etc.  IMAG projection was provided by Markey’s.
