Markey’s provided the audiovisual services and equipment for over 100 meetings that included educational sessions, legislative sessions, luncheons and receptions. We shipped 4 semi truckloads of gear from our national warehouse in Indianapolis to San Antonio for this event, our 16th convention with NCAA. Our technicians from all over the nation, including from our Austin, Texas offices, traveled to Convention to ensure all events ran smoothly.
The Keynote Luncheon featuring Dr. Condoleezza Rice was set with pleated columns and a custom lectern.
A few highlights:
- There were business sessions that required voting from 400 members, therefore Markey’s provided the Automated Response Systems for that process and set up 11.3’ x 20’ screens, 14k Christie projectors and 12 wireless microphones to facilitate the communication and voting process.
- The Opening Business Session was held in the Lila Cockrell Theater where NCAA President Emmert gave his State of the Association address. The HD video of the session can be viewed here.
Coordinating the equipment and the personnel can be challenging when the events are taking place in multiple venues at the same time, but proper pre-event planning by the Markey’s team minimized the amount of time spent relocating gear and staff over the course of the convention.
