Markey’s has been traveling across the country with Mecum Auctions
, the world’s largest collector car, vintage/antique motorcycle and road art auction, for more than 13 years. The annual tour consists of 13+ US cities, including Los Angeles, Houston and Chicago. Although each show is similar, there is always something unique about each production in each city. The 2018 Mecum Kissimmee show proved to be no different.
For their 2018 auction in Kissimmee (which holds the title of the World’s Largest Annual Collector Car Auction and lasts for 10 days), Mecum asked for a backdrop for their room that housed the show’s “Main Attraction” vehicles. Markey’s had the task of creating an event technology piece to compliment a building with more than 100 of the world’s most unique and valuable automobiles including the 2018 Bugatti Chiron with an estimated value of over $3.5 million. To answer the challenge, the Markey’s team created a custom LED feature wall that consisted of 9 video walls suspended from truss by cables over a wall of black drape. The custom LED display was located in the center of the room with a handful of the featured vehicles staged just in front of it. The Markey’s team sorted through hours of video footage to find and configure the perfect content to fit the custom wall. The end result was a one-of-a-kind video wall that did not overpower, but perfectly complimented the one-of-a-kind vehicles that thousands of guest came to see. Check out the end result in the video below.
